Is there any software out there somewhere that can read/write JECS ECU-s?

Need to remap my MY99 WRX and EcuTec is not an option.
It's cheaper in Estonia to get a standalone EMS than get the engine remapped with EcuTec (EcuTec remap costs about $1500 USD, it's absurd).

well, are there anyone here who has disassembled and looked into the m32 code?

How much of the ECU can we read via SSM right now? And what tools can we use?

Edit: added the tools..

The light at the end of the Tunnel is an oncomming train!
:P

I think us JECS guys have been left in the dust behind the newer model ECUs. We are a forgotten bunch.

So I decided to skip the April bump and wait for May. Any word on this yet ? The silence is deafening.

Thanks,
Stuart.

Fellows,

I think you all need to move to the Hydra.

I will be installing a Hydra in my car soon to learn how to use it, before I use it on my customers car.

I stated a topic on Enginuity and it was mentioned that out cars are antique and the ecu documentation is very old and cannot be found to learn how to make a flashing program.

I think we need to let go and go to an alternative solution. it will cost us more, but it will well worth it.

The Link ECU is another good option and have very good support.

Those are expensive options for an NA car, though. PP6 is probably cheaper, as is an I-Speed reflash.

I was all exited to discover that my ECU could be reflashed. but then what a disapointment to realize that there are no other option than ecuteck official dealers/tuners for my JDM v5 impreza STI type R :(

reading this thread isn't very encouraging as it seems jecs ECU will stay on the side and lost interest. very strange as this the type R was the base of the myth 22B, how come nobody want to work on this ECU ?

what should I do with that ECU then ?

through it in a bin and fit an power FC as they are back to reasonable price? or am I all negative and should just shut up and wait a bit?
enginuity sounds so nice. I was really motivated to play with it.

I really need to sort out my ingition to run RON95 urgently, so I need to know urgently which way I should go. please advise me :/
