type in your email and cut and paste the serial number from the webpage. make sure when you cut and paste the serial number there isn't a space behind the serial #. try that. it did the same thing to me when i cut and pasted serial # it had a space behind the # and it gave me a invalid serial error.

It is a dashed quad notation:

here is a quote from evom of me and jcsbanks(i hope he is not upset by this but there is some good info)
andenbre, I've tried it now, agree the timing numbers seem about 10 too high - eg 15 degrees at idle. I can log at 12 samples per sec but that is because of my slow laptop. I am getting readings of 1,2,3 on the knock sum, sometimes on very little throttle though, and one 9 and 12 on lift off in another hot zone that I've retarded. I have no idea what is normal for knock sum.

I took the CSV file and sorted it by the item reference then the time stamp, then I copied the blocks so that one row of the sheet showed all the values collected in a short time interval, then I could make sense of the log file a bit better.

There is some weirdness with airflow for example, Hz will read out to say 1600 Hz and then just stick there, not going up or down. The airflow quantity moves around differently still - lots of oscillation with no clear trend. The temperatures are not scaled to suit the IX at present it seems.

Excellent test at this stage really just to establish communication with the ECU and save the requests to file. Excellent job evo4mad :D
I agree hamish, this is an outstanding effort in such a short time and I hope you dont take my coments as hits against evoflash, I am just puting out any and all issues and info that I can to try and further the program

i have only seen knock values in one pull and its value was 2 for 1 second worth of log. since the rest of my logs showed 0 i disregarded it as a fluke rattle or what ever.

the air volume seems pretty erattic at consistant speed/rpm/throttle
sweeping from 8 to 250 earily similar to o2 sensor sweeps

Edit: I am positive that air volume is actualy closed loop front o2 sensor now because in the logs at steady 3k it osolates between 8 and 248 just like o2 until tps goes to basicly 0 (13.3333333 but that is the idle stop reading) decel then air volume goes to 0 until idle rpm is reached then it pops back up to single digit to triple digit sweeps
this is on a evo 9 however

Can anyone help me bying this software.

Paypal doesnt work with Russia -but i can pay through credit card to the shop or by wiretransfer direct to the bank account.
If someone has an online shop-could u buy a copy of logger and resell it to me...I can pay a little more than 15$ :)

P.S. I need it badly -I hope it can see knocks as announced....

So I figured out my sample rate problem (only getting 13-15 samples/second). The problem is the laptop being slow, minimizing the window made the sample rate jump to 70+ samples/sec. So I have a feature request..

Can we have a checkbox to disable the echoing of the communications and the live readouts of the data? No rush obviously as the work around is to minimize the logger window once you have started logging.

Thanks the-moss2 - I've gone from 12 to 130 Hz logging when I minimize! Much more useful if logging 10 or so parameters at once.

There's actually some coding improvements that will make things work better.. the data recording should actually be done in a hidden window, and a timer periodically update the text boxes if necessary.. This will allow maximum throughput..
VB Is notoriously bad at prioritizing redraws and I/O, my last app was written client-server for that reason..

Also, there should be a configurable sample rate, this will create a consistent level of data output that can more easily be compared..

Thought this might help some, it needs ALOT more work. Feedback is welcome.

Needs .NET 2.0 framework

Mad If I could get your code, i'd like to make just a basic console logging program so I can try and get more speed in the logging department without all the updates etc.
