Eh? None of the JECS ECUs support AVCS West - this feature came in with the New Age cars, and of course this is the point at which Subaru switched to Denso.

Some more ROM files, sorry if some are reposts but this should cover all ECU types from 99/00 models

...,yes, the ECU switch.. ..there must be a story behind this..
AVCS should also have a history inside Subaru..?

And a reflashable ECU in 99/00 apears to me as early..

STI6: Thanks for the ECU-images :D

No doubt, but it's probably a really boring story - likely to be along the lines that the control system parts supply contracts were up for renewal with the GD/GG, and Denso put in the best quote.

AVCS should also have a history inside Subaru..?

Not sure what you're trying to ask here chap. It's a given that FHI would have been researching it, given the potential advtages and also the fact that the likes of Honda had already shown it could be done in a cost-efficient and reliable package.

And a reflashable ECU in 99/00 apears to me as early..

Again not quite sure what you're trying to say but again flash-MCU based engine control was becoming commonplace in the motor industry by the time Subaru went to it. I could be wrong, but I'm also under the impression that the US-driven OBD specs required flashable control units.

My JECS Non-Turbo have AVCS. So as the models appearing the Legacies.

I think there tested out on the NA before introducing them 2 years later.

So, 99-01 for NA, then 01+ for turbo

I guess the same will be for the lift, which will most probably appear in 08+ turbo models.

STI6, you have any JDM STI ones?

You have access to the EcuTek pro?

STI6!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!

west - thats the fuel map

try scaling the data values with the following

14.7/(1 + (([value]-128))/128))

It is very interesting to note, looking at these maps that the P1 ecu shown seems to have the same main maps as the JDM 040 ecu.............

I was under the impression that prodrive had a special tune on their car, but it seems they just slapped the slightly more powerful JDM maps in there and called it a day.. verrrry interesting.

Interestingly enough these ecus all seem to use the same structure for storing major maps

here is the xml I have been using lately:

The load is still wrong - but otherwise most conversion seem ok. Its good for compairing fuel - timing - boost - wg tables though :)

Code: Select all

They will all have the same structure. It will just be interesting to see how the maps differ, say from a AE802 (WRX) to a (JDM STi) AF001

AFAIK the AF041 is a JDM STi, because thats the same ECU as in my car.
I dont have access to ECUTek unfortunately.
