tuning Vs flashing

Hi Guy, i m a noob here.. wat is the diff between Tuning and flashing.. wat i know is . inorder to tune u got to flash the ecu.. m i rite? if i m wrong please correct me

Flash is writing a file from your laptop into the ECU.

Tuning is the what you do to the file on your laptop. Changing the map values and so forth.
