Anyone know if a 2003wrx ecu will fit straight into a 2001WRX(both euro)-i presume its just the maps that are slightly different.

I did same swap and it worked, but you have to sync immobiliser with new ECU.

Easyrider, why don't you just edit the maps of the 2001 wrx into anything you want ?

...I wouldn't swap year revisions...

Basically, i want a spare ecu-ie keep the origonal for safekeeping for if i have any reflash probs and trash it.

How did you manage to sync your other ECU.
IIRC the company you got it from provided something with the ECU ?
