Cant Flash ECU with ECUFLASH

Hey all,
I am not able to flash my ecu using ECUFLASH. I can read the rom successfully but cant flash it back.
I can (and have flashed a different car though.)
I CAN flash 02JDMSTI_NEW.hex (attached)
I CANNOT FLASH andrewsti_192_new.hex attached
Error Message is "Flashing tools do not recognize flash method '' ""

Yeah, I got this too with the new version.

I think it has no definition of what model to use for flashing. (2002/2003 vs. 2004+)

The type should be 2002/2003 wrx for the JDM STi from that year.

I just used the old version of ecuflash where you can select the model and have no problems.

I had the same problem yesterday when trying to flash a 06wrx. When I created the XML def. in xmlwrite, it left out the flashing method. I opened the xml up in notepad, added the flashing method to it, saved and it worked like a charm.

All is well now.
added flashmethod wrx02 and it flashed ok

I suggest you go spend $1000 on an AP and ST. No, seriously.

Actually and AP with ST is not 1000. AP is 595 and ST is now 199. Even with that I'd never use Cobb shit. I hate that crap. I have EcuTek on my ECU anyway, but my generalizations of what I said is correct. This is no different then a freaking Linux board... No, seriously.

I agree. I think it is a waste of money in this day of age.

But then again, you pay for ease of use.

I like the idea of quick reflashing, but a nice small sony notebook or whatever and you have the same think, plus logging. Why would anyone want less.
