bsod/reboot on read?

This isn't a big deal(for me), but thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has seen it.
I've got 2 laptops, one a dell inspiron 6000 win xp pro, and the other a inspiron 8200, also with xp pro. On the 6000, there is some sort of conflict where as soon as it trys to write to the openport (for downloading the kernal) I get a bsod with and IRQ error(I think, it clears quickly) and the computer does a hard reboot. The 8200 has no such issue. Didn't spend a lot of time looking into it, or even screwing with it. Happens almost immediately upon clicking OK after turning ignition on.

More then likely a driver issue.
