AH581 next rev

Postby Spiider » Sun Apr 16, 2006 2:06 pm

Here is the next rev of my map.

This one uses the s202 ignition map, ignition correction map, and has the hole fixed from 2000-3000rpm in the vvt angle settings.

Output ncreased ~10hp, and ~20ftlbs, and the peaks moved lower in the rpm range considerably.

Dyno Test: jeff rev 2
=================

Maximum Wheel Power: 263.2 BHP @ 5742 RPM
Maximum Wheel Torque: 262.9 LbFt @ 4964 RPM
Power to weight ratio: 169.8 BHP per ton

To the best of your knowledge, was the last runs the same or the variations were slightly different?

Can you do map overlays from the last dyno runs, including before the avcs change?

It woulod be interesting to see a stock avcs map against the s202 ign maps. Then you can tune on that.

Can you post the new rom w/ addition stuff in the future for us to follow?

You car looks like a blast to drive. What mods you have and the turbo? Up top looking limited :)

How do the car feel in that spot now?

It looks like your stock map had better low end power. Even the low load ign maps seems a tab higher than the s202 - if my maps are correct.

Do you feel a difference in the low end?

They are so close at the bottom end, I can't really feel the difference.

Actually the entire exercise has been surprising in that regard, so much changed in the maps and so little change in performance overall.

Maybe I'll have to let some learning occur to see if it gets better.

Yes, the car is a blast. It accelerates so fast that the back tires lose traction on bare tarmac when the turbo really starts making power.

I have to dial up the DCCD a bit to help if I intend on really pushing her.

It is a stock ej207 (version 8) with a twin scroll IHI turbo - vf37 I believe.
Factory equal length headers, and with a stock STi exhaust and backbox.

I still have all my Cat's. :)

Hey Guys, we are almost finished with the rom. We have a lot of low end torque.

We are currently having problems increasing the boost, since it would not change. Maybe the turbo is max out with back pressure.

I think the turbo is a VF37, which could be max @ 18psi, but the turbo is noted to be good up to 400hp. Do we maybe getting a lot of back pressure or map issues around boost control.

Current tune is on a Canadian STI.

I am expecting some logs, so once everything is good, I will post the final map with logs.

I think we are with spec.

From the post above, I guess we have reach our goal with the stock system, but looking @ that boost curve, we may be spool later, although 300rpm soon on your maps.

Jeff is the stock map Dyno.

Hello Everyone!

The tune is coming along slowly, since Spiider have been very very busy lately.

Here is a dyno from last week, down in 4gear. 3 gear is too fast and does not spool the turbo enough.

Jeff = 3 gear run - stock
Jeff 8-15 = 4gear runs - tune
Jeff 8-15-hwg = 4gear run - high wg control

use the Per Gear Wastegate Duty Compensation map to curb that. use it to get near full boost in 1st and 2nd too. try not to play with boost maps if they are fine in 4th,5th and 6th.
