Open Loop & Closed Loop

Postby west_minist » Fri May 05, 2006 9:56 pm

I have a question.

Why wouldn't you want the ecu to run full close loop for operation?

I just cannot think of any reason to be in OL.

I don't *think* the sensor is accurate at WOT, given its location (high EGP). What happens if the O2 sensor fails or gives faulty readings?

The Hydra can be configured to run in closed-loop all the time, but it is discouraged for that very reason (sensor failure).

You are correct. Very much true. As you can see, subaru normally car more than one now, so not sure if that is the issue.

But thanks for highlighting that. I wonder what else?

The secondary O2 sensor is not a backup for the primary. It's just there to monitor final CAT efficiency.
