Postby GotWRX03 » Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:26 pm

qoncept and I tried reflashing my 03 US WRX tonight but was unsuccessful due to some connectivity issue.

We're getting a message saying...

[0.000] kernel flash disable
[3.045] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.945] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.133] unable to load kernel

what's the wrong???

sure did! logging works fine, when the green connector is connected together and the ignition is in ON position, I can hear everything cycling like the fuel pump and all that, but when the green cable is unplugged, the cycling stops - so I know it's not the green connectors.

Have you selected the correct COM port in the options menu? You would get this result if you were accidentally using the built in serial port, for example.

yup! both using ecuExplorer and EcuFlash - using com3, I have real time logging with ecuExplorer.

I desperately need this to work to tune the car. We're in a really tight schedule

What about the white init/reflash connector? Does you car have one with 3 or 6 positions?

Do you have class tonight? Come over and we can take a look at it while we still have some daylight.

I do, but I get off early. so yes, I will definitely be there. It's been driving me crazy. I actually tried working on it last night 'till midnight and was getting the same result.

Can't get mine to work with the 1.29 software it dosnt reconize the cable at all it says no veichle interface

0.000] kernel flash disable
[3.045] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.924] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.945] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[2.133] unable to load kernel

is it because I am not using the latest version ( 2006-10-03: Version 1.29a ) if i go to devise manager while the cable is connected it shows it as usb serial adapter but dosn't say openport 1.2, like when i connect the 1.3m cable what should i do

Also you can't change the com port with 1.29 when you click on options it dosn't show ports it just opens the user options

I had the same problem, here's how I got my car to flash: connect the green connector, put in jumper block, startup ECU Flash, load the map you want to write, click the write to rom button, then when it ask you to turn the car to on, now turn the key to the on position, I usually wait 4 secs (4 beeps) then click ok. Otherwise the car goes into diagnostic mode and you're not able to read or write the rom. Basically when I see the check engine light on, I can't read or write, so make sure you establish connection before it does that loop test.
