the rest of the world is now getting the 2.5lt STI, only JDM has the 2lt STI now. this means that all 2.5lt STI's have the same processor type as the USDM 2.5lt STI, which is not yet supported with ecuFlash.

there is a possibility that the JDM cars now have the same ecu/processor as the 2.5lt STI but kept the capacity at 2lt??

Yep, but then... why don't they get the whole DbW package (throttle) ?

From what I understand, the WRC Impreza uses DBW.

Guys, know it's been a long time but an Autronic ECU is in the car now. Just to clarify, my car is an MY06 JDM STI Spec C - it does not have DBW and it is a 2.0L engine.

Anyway I decided to hook up the factory ECU, got it to work, just had to be quick with turning on the ignition and clicking OK to read.

FYI to get this to work, I had to select the "2001-2003 Subaru Impreza WRX" option in the Read ECU menu.
