EVO5 GSR Rom - 22580006

Postby nocturnal walt » Tue Jul 29, 2008 1:32 am

Here is a stock 1998 EVO5 GSR Rom I read with ECUFlash. I have a partially completed XML file that I made for this. I'll post it once I have a bit more done.

Yeah sure, but there is still lots that needs to be finished. This seems to work for all EVO5s but the EVO6 roms I have seen are offset by a few bytes so need a different xml file.

Also, use my evo5 base or my xml will not work.

Some nice work there.

Just 1 thing i've picked up on.

Low Octane Fuel Map address is incorrect.

This is the correct address for it 119bd

With the evo 6 tables, there in similar locations, most just need 2 adding to the end of the address's.

So for low octane fuel map just change 119bd to 119bf and so on.

But I still can't find the scalings for the evo 6 roms :(

Yeah, you're right. Good spotting. I did have the low octane fuel map address right in another editor I was using. But when I transfered all the data over into an xml I must have missed it out and used the high octane fuel map address for both.

I noticed that most stuff on the EVO6 was offset by two bytes, but I haven't really looked at these roms much. What scalings are you looking for in particular? I can probably find them the same way as I did for the EVO5.

I found the load/rpm scales for the fuel/ign tables on the 6. I also found a couple other things like boost error correction.

Yeh I found most of the scalings last night when I was messing about.

Most evo 6 roms are offset by 82.

Here are my updated versions of your 2 def files.

I have found a couple of extra address's but some of them are not correct yet (I gave up at 5am).

Edited to update the files.

I think this is where I am going to get stuck now.

There are a few address's that I still can't get right, but hey there is alot more there than we have seen until now, so it's a good start :D

Nice work mate.

Like you said, there are a few things that don't look right, but lots that does look right and we're certainly making progress.

What addresses in particular are you still trying to get right?

The main ones are, boost limit, min temp for full boost control, idle speed control steps, the temp scaling, and some of the rpm tables might be a little off too.

Thanks.

I don't think there are any other tables we need to define, even if we could flash the roms back

Postby red^shark » Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:22 am

Does the new version of ecuflash enable the H8 flash?

Thoughts?
