Ecuflash not connecting to 2003 Euro Evo 7 RA

Postby rks » Sun Aug 10, 2008 7:08 am

Hi,
ecuflash does not connect to my 2003 Euro Evo 7 which ecu is reflashed by Ralliart.

Cable works fine with other evo 8 / 9.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

looks like that somebody changed the "init code"

write a small programm that check it for you.
you have 255x255 possible inits for the ecu :-)

As far as I know, previous owner has sent ECU through dealer to Ralliart in UK for reflash. No other custom tuning.

I'm not so good in writing such programs. At least need some guidelines for communication protocol and etc. If it is possible I would prefare Java for that.

Lets assume I will find changed "init code" value using some utility program. What will I have to do next to read current ROM using ecuflash? I would like to start custom tuning from current ROM or at least to get my immob code.

I have unsuccessfully tryed aktivematrix unlocker. From log attached in first msg "This vehicle interface does not support needed features. unable to connect to vehicle interface."

From error message I'm not sure if it is cable version, ecu or unlocker itself issue. Any ideas what is wrong? Is there any other known ecu unlocker?

unlocker will not help. it use only 0000 intit because this was the standard ecu-t... version.

you have to make a small tool which will test all combinations.

flash, thanks for comments.
Sorry, but I still do not get full picture. Lets assume I have found init code using smart tool and what to do next? How to read or write ROM to ecu? Can I change default init code used by ecuflash?

Yes, you're right; if ECUFlash determines that the cable does not support the required features, then you need a different cable.
If the ECU is locked, ECU Unlocker WILL help (if you have the right cable).

I have connected to ECU with aktivematrix unlocker + ecuflash 1.28 but still have problems:
Code: Select all
[04:53:21.875] Version 1.28.716
[04:53:21.890] 8 memory models read.
[04:53:22.109] 82 ROM metadata models read.
[04:53:22.109] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[04:53:22.109] flashing tool "mitsubootloader" loaded.
[04:53:29.031] sending init sequence 1 (0001)
[04:53:32.281] sending init sequence 1 (0003)
[04:53:35.531] sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
[04:53:38.765] sending init sequence 1 (F0F0)
[04:53:41.484] no response to any known code

Looks like that unlocker send one extra init code (F0F0) comparing to log without unlocker but it does not help for RA. Any ideas how to force brutal init code check? I'm not so good to write utility program from scratch. Is there any chance to get some source codes or etc?

That is strange. Please check the connection on the Test Mode Connector. Perhaps also monitor its voltage, and make sure it's getting up around 15-18V when connecting. If so, also check on the ECU pin.
