jdm evo8 gsr

i have a JDM 2003 Evo8 GSR... i read the rom from the car and it is detected as

04_LANCER_EVO8_FQ300_JDM_93660005

my car is a 2003 NOT 2004 model... and i didnt think its a FQ300...

is this correct or is something wrong?

i was able to read, make some changes and write back to the ecu correclty... i just want to make sure this is correct before i continue

VIII FQ300 is the UK label for a JDM VIII GSR. The ECU is unaltered from JDM to make the UK version.

does that mean my car is 300hp? i presume thats where the name FQ300 came from?
