I made sure all my wires had a good connection last night and resoldered any that have been cut in the past.
then i tried flashing a map for 1 hour with no results. no matter what i do or how good i time it, i still get the test mode cycling and the get kernel version error.
im in desperate need of help and getting frustrated. ive been trying to get this going for 2 months and need some help. can anyone help me?????!!!!!!??????

I had the same problem as you did, and after trying to jump everything nothing worked. I was using a different battery like you said, and then realized that I didn't have the batteries ground connected to anything. Then I connected the batteries ground cable to my car and it allowed me to get past the low programming voltage error.
