Anti-Lag and Launch Control, Can it be done ???

Anti-Lag and Launch Control, Can it be done ???

Postby cossie1 » Mon Dec 31, 2007 5:53 am

Ok guys, as some of you know, I have an Evo 6 RS2, which is running an Evo 7 Ecu, with a Ralliart rom on it, that i've tweaked to suit my car.

I've read that Anti-lag and Launch control can be implemented on an Evo 5/6 using that expensive sw that tuners seem to rave on about.

But........

Can it be done using ecu flash on the evo 7 ecu running in an evo 6 ???

If so, How do I go about getting it working ?

I know that it can't be switched off, but with a possibility that we will have map switching availiable soon on the e7 ecu's, it would be sweet if we could have a map with the above activated :D

So any help would be great.

Cheers

Both mrfred and I have looked for the code for launch control and can't identify it. This is unsurprising as the VII doesn't have an upper clutch switch. Not sure about antilag. I run a hi flow cat so not something I've looked into.

Thanks for the update burgers.

But we know both these options can be enabled with that expensive alternative, on a 5/6/7/8/9 so there has to be a value in the ecu code, somewhere for it, surely ???

I would be scared to launch under boost charged with antilag.
Something would snap, I don't have antilag and I also don't stationary rev launch the car either but the little stock VIII turbo easily lands me a low 1.6 60' with just a 5 - 6K slip on a single plate.

That could well be the case. I'm getting a bit better at the disassembly, but I might have to give up the chase and ask mrfred or tephra to look at it. tephra seems pretty cool about adding code, as you have his V4 stuff maybe he can get something done with that.

Barry and I are testing V5 with map switching atm, working very well too.

I think i've got the antilag sorted now (well the same way as that expensive crap works), just put -20 in the low timing tables and add fuel in the same scales, and it will give some pops and bangs on the over run, or light throttle.

Nothing worth writing home about, and i'd never call it anti-lag as it doesn't touch the turbo in any way shape or form.

Right the launch control doesn't seem to work for me on either 90550001 or 98640014.

I know a clutch switch isn't needed, as I enabled it on a friends evo 9 and it works with the car in neutral when stationary.

I've checked all my evo 7 roms, and they all have the stat rev limit address as 15ae.

I am not 100% sure this is the correct address, as it doesn't work on any evo 4/5/6's with a 7 ecu, and i've also heard it doesn't work on evo 7's either.

So anyone on here any good at the dissasembly and willing to check to see if there is another address for the stat rev limit ???

Hi

No mate, that stat limit is cobblers, when you disassemble it you can see that value is part of a snipit of code. Andy Fox says the way it is done on the early Evos is by having the code written so when under 1 MPH the rev limit is say 5000. From your description maybe the IX code works the same. If I could be arsed I'd look at it. Maybe ask tephra to make a patch in exchange for some drinking vouchers?

Yeh it was disassembled about 18 months ago by Bez over on AM.

Trouble is the address he came up with doesn't work either.

I now have a feeling that either the address is MILES out, OR that the evo 7 ecu has the stat rev limit hard coded off, or non existant at all.

yes now you can apply statrevlimit in evo 7 ecu,
just check evom "tephra mod v5.10".
