Can you reset ECUTek ECUs using ecuExplorer

Postby crispyduck » Sun Sep 23, 2007 11:37 am

All,

A colleague has asked if I could read this fault codes and reset his ECU on a EDM MY05 WRX. I just want to double-check something with you...

His EcuTek was only done a couple of months ago and I want to check that resetting his ECU using good old ecuExplorer will be ok. I'm well out of touch with what EcuTek are doing these days so just checking they are not doing anything crazy in RAM that will be cleared when I reset the ECU.

Let me know what you think.

Regards,
-Steve.

Well you can RESET an ECUTEK-ed ecu, but I have no idea if this will permanently affect the Ecutek values in that ECU. Not an issue for my friend cuz his car couldn't boost above 0.5 bar. A log revealed that he was having plenty of knocks and his IAM was 2.

i reset ecutec many times with other programs. nothing happened and there isnt any chance to happen in the other hand also because you cant effect the rom or ram ın resettıng process.

and at the end i directly reflashed my 2004 edm sti with ecuflash and nothing happend:) (because i dont make any changes in the map, only the official tuner can do it but i like to do it myself)

Ecuexplorer can reset ECU, regardless if its Ecutek-ed or not. I have seen the difference in a datalog.
