Raising WG for Prodrive - faulty solenoid? (pic inside)

Postby Hyper » Tue Aug 28, 2007 7:45 am

I belive the pic will explain it

top - initial and max WG STOCK
bottom - initial and max WG ADJUSTED for Prodrive 3 port

when left stock it was only able to climb to 14 psi

I am used to seeing and reading that WG duties are to be dropped by almost 40% in certain cases, so this seems very strange to me

I got the solenoid used from a fellow member on the board

I also changed the hoses and used the ones from the stock solenoid for WG and turbo inlet

Is this normal?? :?

That does seem like a very high duty cycle for a 3 port. You say you get 14 psi with the stock map, stock solenoid. What do you get with the 3 port and that map?

Are you hooked up in interrupt mode?

It could easily be hooked up wrong or have a leaky line.

not exactly
I was getting 14 psi on stock map (stock WG settings) with the Prodrive 3 port... on stock solenoid I was getting full 1.27 bar (it's around 18 psi)

it's hooked up according to this diagram:

http://www.tarmacwolf.org/dokuwiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?w=&h=&cache=cache&media=stock_vs_prodrive_boost_solenoid.png

*
Port “A” connects directly to the wastegate actuator port
*
Port “B” connects to the intake post-MAF
*
Port “C” connects directly to the compressor port

as per http://www.tarmacwolf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=3-port_boost_solenoid directions

I also used the hoses from the stock solenoid
