08 FXT

Postby 06rexwagon » Tue Jun 05, 2007 6:49 am

My friend just picked up the Forester Sports edition and I tried to read his ecu with 1.30 and 1.27 without any luck. Anyone done it or know when ecuflash will support it?

I believe the new 2008 XT use a CANbus interface.

Yes it does, and there's an 07 ECU on its way to Colby for R&D right now.

You'll have to wait at least until new OpenPort 2.0 hardware becomes available:

I hear you about the CAN bus side of things but before anyone goes mad about this please check that the green connectors actually put the car into diagnostic mode - ie - ign on, green connectors together and the cel flashes and various relays click throughout the car and the fan and fuel pump etc cycles

I have come across a few were the green connectors made no difference as the circuit wasnt being completed by the greeen connectors under the dash ! - if you trace your wiring diagram you will find a second set of green connectors on the same circuit - both need to be "connected"

the other green connectors are either above the ecu or under the passenger side door kick panel on the side - sort of under the edge of the dash close to the door hinges area if you follow - subaru's default was for these to be connected but now for some reason they ship disconnected from the factory - hook them up and you good to go !

try this first - its a layer 1 problem

So the 2.0 will support the can bus ecu, I wonder if the 2.0 will be expensive... Looks like it will be out June 15th. I'd be willing to pick one up if someone can help me tune my fxt.

murmurings on other forums suggest the price will be around US$200 or just under. This is not the official word from Tactrix however. Still, great value for what it is.
