slight issue with ECUflash

Postby rogerh » Fri Jul 06, 2007 3:51 pm

I'll try and be as descriptive as possible....

I would like to upload my stock ROM file for an USDM 05 Evo 8 MR so ppl have access to it if they need it.

I downloaded ECUflash 1.30
Installed / set up
Upon opening ECUflash for the first time, I received a FTchipID.dll error and my Read from ECU, Write to ECU, Test Write to ECU and Compare to ECU icons are not functional

Did the following: Copied the FTChipID.dll file from my C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\drivers\x86 to C:\Windows\system32

The error seems to be eliminated.

However, my Read from ECU, Write to ECU, Test Write to ECU and Compare to ECU icons are STILL not functional.

This is what I have in the task info box:

[18:19:07.046] Version 1.30.1095
[18:19:07.046] 8 memory models read.
[18:19:09.656] 145 ROM metadata models read.
[18:19:09.656] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[18:19:09.656] flashing tool "mitsubootloader" loaded.

Any insight on what the problem could be would be very appreciated.

Sounds like the driver for the cable is not installed, or the laptop is not detecting the cable.....

In EcuFlash it shows in the corner if the cable is detected, and then the buttons become available...
