..but I have not seen anything that confirms this..
We need more docs.. pinouts on the chip in JECS ECU would be great. There must be some docs on this somewhere.

There is support for m32 in GCC, put in there by Renesas..

I have not found any yet, still looking.
Theres only a few instructions in this RISC so it should be possible get something working.
Its been over 10 years since I done programming and disassembling now, so Im a bit rusty..

I have not found a spare ECU (Forester my99 EU) yet, but if I do, it mybe help get pinouts of the custom CPU and testing without fear of breaking my daily driver :-)
Would be cool if we could hookup the chip in programming/debug mode. :)

..I will order a tactrix cable this weekend, and help where I can. My English can only get better so please ask or correct me :)

I have piles of 98-01 NA Subaru ecus. Please let me know if anyone needs them to further this project. I would love to start flashing these motors. With a little bit of head work, exhaust and flywheel, these motors are already great on 87. 91 octaine and some timing and fuel adjustments will turn them into monsters!

I have been told by an engineer at Prodrive that the '99-'01 USDM 2.5RS ECUs are JECS, and are very similar in function to the JECS ECUs used on the JDM WRX and STi vehicles of that era. I know the EcuTeK Flash99 system could theoretically work on the RS ECUs but EcuTeK did not do full definitions for those ECUs for some reason. The mapping changed pretty significantly almost every year I understand, which may have something to do with it.

I also know with some certainty that the Techtom tools can read and write the '99-'01 ECUs. I believe this is what I-Speed is using on those cars.

It's also worth noting that the vehicle sold in the US as the 2.5RS was also available in Japan in nearly identical trim (2.5L, same evolutions) as the Impreza SRX. A number of Japanese tuning houses made plug-in pre-flashed ECU modules available for those cars, so they were definitely remapping them with something.
