Can somebody review my map? I'm making too much power...

I have a TOTALLY VIRGIN (I think) '04 STi... I have pulled the map off of it, but have not done anything... I dyno'd it today, bone stock, and nearly SH!T myself when I saw the numbers... I prefer not to post the numbers for fear of being called BS... But I'm wondering if my map is possibly not stock, like maybe it was a Cobb AP or something..

A/F's were 10.5:1, and Boost on the dyno was 14-15psi... There were 7 other subarus dynoing on the same dyno today, and all of their power seemed reasonable... vf22 powered 2.0's putting down 260-300whp depending on fuel & psi setup... So I don't know if its the dyno...

TIA..

I don't think you should see any miracles. That's stock boost level and AFR. It should taper down to barely 12 psi by 7000rpm, but 14-15 from 4000 to 6000 is normal. I wouldn't think any sort of tune would still run that rich or not bump midrange boost at least a bit.

I'd guess you would be a bit shy of a tuned VF22 2.0L?

That is what makes me think that the car might be making that power... I was playing around with a buddy's VF22 2.0 @ 18psi, stock injectors at 85% duty cycle, FMIC, UTec & full TBE, and we were dead nuts even.... He SAYS he wasn't all the way in it... But it sure sounded like he was...

Did you see anything abnormal in my map?

What map? Did you mean to post it?

You can always look at a stock map that has been posted and compare it to what you got. Here's the stock AJ243:

If you really think it is a Cobb map please do not post it. I don't know what Cobb does in their tunes, but I doubt they leave boost at 14-15psi and leave fueling at 10.5 AFR.

A 2.5L engine at 15 psi probably flows as much or more than a 2.0L at 18psi with a similar turbo. But you're not saying where you see the 15 or 18psi. Is that peak midrange, or at redline?

I tuned a local here with a bugeye WRX, aftermarket TMIC, and VF30 and he walks STIs that have nothing but a downpipe and the stock tune. It should be a faster setup by a good measure, even without being too aggressive. Once the STI is tuned it should catch back up or surpass the 2L.

I just compared your map to mine... Identical on the Boost, Fuel, Timing Tables, and I just glanced at the Wastegate tables really quick, those look identical as well...

I'm wondering if maybe the dyno was off... But we had a few cars dyno perfectly within reason, and one or two that were LOWER than we were expecting... So I dunno.... I'm wondering if the car may just be a freak of nature...
