Pull the rom on a Forester

Postby west_minist » Sun Oct 01, 2006 7:19 pm

Hello:

Is there a technique on pulling roms of a DBW 2004 Forester Turbo Automatic?

Would you need a 1.3 open port cable. We have v1.2.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Since it is DBW, both the 1.2 and 1.3 cables should work.

People have posted FXT maps already.

I know that.

But this auto, we cannot read the rom. An auto WRX is ok, but this FXT. Its JDM.

USDM FXT AUTO

Postby mtcavity » Thu Mar 08, 2007 12:32 pm

It took 3-4 attempts before Open Port 1.3 connected to my fathers USDM FXT AUTO (although you probably tried 100 times by now). My problem was the timing on the "Turn key and immediately hit GO". I was so used to Mitsubishis very lenient timing of the connecting sequence.

Keep trying and good luck.

I have only tried on JDM Forester, but I just cannot get it pulled. Next time, I will try 1.30.

In the AUTO, do you have to press anything else?

I normal hook the green conn. up an duse the 2003+ flash plug.

Is the FXT automatic? If so, what did you do?

Yes it is auto.

This are my steps to dump my rom to file.

1) Car not started at all but green connector connected
2) Connect usb to notebook
3) Start ECUFlash
4) Connect to OBDII
5) You will see that on the right bottom corner, it gives the ecu name
6) Click on read from ROM
7) Choose 2004 DBW FXT/STI.......
8) A screen pops up
9) Turn the key to ON without starting engine.
10) Click OK on the screen

I used to have errors connecting and that was because i choose the wrong year for my car in step 7. Have to trial and error on which year to choose.

Ok. Nothing special.

I will see if this will work on a JDM.
