Yup, I am using the 1.3 cable and 1.29a for ecuflash. And also the last version of ecuexplorer to read the cel that my friend was getting. I ended up just disabling that cel using Enginuity.

Also, I have verified that resetting my ecu on my '06 WRX works -- the DAM would drop to 0.5 after the reset.

Try uninstalling all of your software/drivers and then reinstalling ecuflash.

Already tried to install/reinstall all software and drivers 2 times with the same result :(

I have disabled the CEL in Enginuity, but it is still on. And I managed to reset the ECU (by disconnecting the battery), but the CEL is still on.

I do not think it is a driver problem because Ecuexplorer recognises my open port cable and I have read a 16-bit ECU (EDM WRX -05) succesfully.

My car is an EDM WRX -06, could that have something to do with the problems?

Problem solved :)

I had to double click "assigned to" in com port window and the green test connector should not be connected. Now I can read codes and reset the ECU. No more CEL :D
