I have a similar connector like that in my car, in addition to the ODBII one..

Ah, it's possible.. Have to check it out. :)

heh, just turn youre head 90 degrees to the right, and look stright up

I think this connector was mentioned in some Subaru ABS docs,
but I never found any pinouts for it.
I guess this is some kind of (SubaruSelectMonitor?) diagnosis port.
The ABS docs named labels and numbers for diagnostic leds on an plugin thingy
hm, "Nissan Consult". How do Nissan "consult" cars :?:

What's interesting, it doesn't have the obd2 connector that later imprezas have,

Eh? Go look again. This car should have the regular 16 pin OBDII connector attached to the moulding that goes under the instrument console and steering column, you can't miss it. If it ain't there, it's because it's been removed.

Anyway, is it possible to reflash this ecu?

It's possible to reflash these ECU's via EcuTeK, and I think the Cobb product might also do it, but as you've no doubt seen elsewhere in this thread there's no open solution for the JECS ECU's yet.

Once you've found the OBD connector you can talk to it via Subaru Select Protocol, monitor it and adjust some simple parameters (like idle speed), but that's about it for the time being.

Edited to add: Nissan's "Consult" is their proprietary diagnostic protocol (and related hardware). From what I've heard, it has, unsurprisingly, a number of similarities with SSM.

Nope, Its a diagnosis port for non-ECU things like ABS.

has anyone identified the MAF scaling in the ecu dumps we got? I would be really interested in seeing the MAF scaling off one of these ecus

Any progress on this yet ?

I just took delivery of a spare ECU for my 2001 2.5RS, and I've had my Tactrix 1.2 cable for months now. It'd be nice to have a reflashing tool to tie the two together.

All us MY99/00 owners are still holding on to hope that we have not been forgotten about by all you clever people :D

I would love to be able to look at and modify my MY00 WRX (AE802).
I have been using ecuExplorer for a while & ecuEdit for its logger & viewer.

I have also downloaded each revision of enginuity & ecuflash, keeping up to date with the latest (I have about 30 images I can view with enginuity and am jealous of what all you MY01+ people are able to access).

Cheers,
Shane :D

What a relief that someone else is still looking for this. I was starting to feel lonely.

Im still watching this too 8)
I had to put my disassembling on hold for the summer, but I hope I get the time to pick it up again soon.
Also, the fun and motivation is just not there with no reflash tools on the horizon..

Here is another MY00 Impreza turbo driver that is still hoping for good news... I guess there are a LOT of Impreza classic owners eager to flash their ECU's. These cars are getting affordable now, but the high price of an ecut*k remap remains the same...

Maybe Colby can give more information on what we can expect in the near future?

Found your website via google, looks very good to me.

Is there any chance to get access to the AE801 EU-Impreza GT (2.0 turbo)
(cars of friends), logging via OBD-II works fine.

Another friend and me are driving MY97/98 EU-Impreza GT with an AD200-ECU

In his car there is an OBD-II-connector, in mine there isn't => do you think there is any chance to get closer to the ecu than with http://www.vwrx.com/index.php?pg=selectmonitor ?

thank you!
