question about Mitsubishi Diagnostic Connector

couple of questions about the connector. i just received my openpor1.3U cable in the male, i have a 96 eclipse that i would like to put an ecu from a EVO8 in but i have an issue, i don't have the white connector under my dash. i was reading a post on one of the other forums they started discussing this connector and were going back and forth about weather or not it was a 12V signal or a ground and then all of a sudden dropped the discussion and went on with there lives... i would like to know what it is so i can add it in my car, i am also building a bench harness so this info will come in handy for that as well.

run a wire from ecu pin 79 to the white socket ,thats all ,i presume its a 4plug evo 8ecu

yes it is a 4 plug EVO8 ECU. So basicly the Cabel supplies the voltage/ground to the ECU directly through the white connector. Thas sounds good to me. hopfully i will have my test bench harness hooked up tonight.
