RE: Problem reading frm Evo 9 JDM

Hi there. I'm a newbie on this ECU flash. E software could detect my OBD to usb cable and download the ROM. However upon completion, it says there is an unknown ROM image. Wat is the next step?

1) Define from scratch?
2) Copy from definition below
3) Inherit from definition below( blank comes out)

What is the meaning of Define frm scratch? I choosed this option and then i got lost and was unable to extract my ecu map.

I also understand that within the program there are many maps for different cars and also the stock evo 9 base map. However it is in xtml format. Is there a way to read it in ROM format? Or am i understanding something wrongly here? Thanks for the help in advance...

Hi todd-w,

thanks for your answer.
It is clear for me that i need a definition file for my car.
This is exakly my problem.
There is no such File for my car in the latest version of ecuflash_134_win.exe
are anywhere newer files?
Do i look on the wrong place or I generaly wrong with my understanding from ECU flash???
I have an Evo 9 European Model from Aug 2007 with the latest delivered ROM version and nobody can read it out.
Is it helpfull to look for numbers on the cover from the ECU to get help?

Thanks
