Won't download from ECU

Ok guys, finally got my openport 1.3U cable, after customs and parcel force decided to charge me silly amounts to receive it.

Anyway came out of parcel force offices and plugged cable straight into the car to run evoscan.

after shorting pins 1 and 4 evoscan connected and started logging.

I get back and it seems the logs are not working for some reason (maybe the paperclip came out or something).

Anyway when I got home, I decided to try and dump my stock rom from my 6 RSII.

Connected the white connector, and made sure the paper clip was removed from OBD port.

Start up ecuflash and go to read the ecu, and it says sending init 2 sequence and then errors out straight away, telling me to read the log.

I have saved the log, but it doesn't give me any info on why it's failed

Anyone have any idea's ? Please don't say it's because I have the openport 1.3U cable instead of the 1.3M.

EDITED TO SAY: This is the same with ecuflash 1.31 and 1.32

Ok, it still will not dump the rom from my Evo 6 ecu, however it will read and write to the evo 7 ecu I have.

Managed to dump it first go, 100 %

However when writing back to it, it does fail, then when I click write again, it says the flash is sucessful.
