i dont think the 1.3 cable works for the 05. i could be wrong.

do you have the green test connectors hooked up and the white block jumpered with the 4 wires?

It states that for 2001-2005 wrx you can not use version 1.3

ahains where do you see that info?

I have a 2004 and it works just fine. I have also used it on an 05 sti and an 03 wrx wagon

I have the 1.3 universal

You will need to make sure you have the green connectors under the dash connected and your car cycles the fans and flashes the check engine light. You will also need to have the white connector (http://openecu.org/index.php?title=Tactrix:WRXInit04) hooked up next to the green connectors
