is there no such thing for tuning the 2005-2006 Impreza RS? i see the OpenPort for Subaru Drive-by-wire vehicles says all drive by wire, but will this work for my 2006 impreza RS?

I second the notion.

I have access to a 2005 2.5RS, and have a laptop, and connection cable.

Let me know how I can help! I want to block a few CEL's and would love to help get the ball rolling.

Have you been able to pull the ROM?

I haven't done anything, actually.

If I can, I'll try to do that this weekend.

I just have to look into what pulling it involves. :)

Plug in the cable, load ecuflash, try to dump.

sweet

and i imagine i do this with the car in 'test' mode? or whatever the mode is called (plug the two connectors together, and then plug that special connector onto the other plug)?

I posted the rom I pulled off a 2006 2.5i here: http://www.enginuity.org/about724.html

It seems most recent Subarus (04+, maybe 05+, give or take) only require the green test connector to put the car into flash/read enabled mode. No other connector. I'd try with just the green connector first. The other connector may not be necessary.

I'm trying to help pimp my sisters 2005 2.5RS.

It's an auto, though. Does this make a huge difference in the bin?

My brother in law has already dumped in cams, full exhaust, etc. At the very least, I'd like to disable the codes...let alone start tuning it.

Well if you are willing to run better gas (2.5RS comes factory to run pump 87) you certainly could tune in more power. You should be able to handle more timing and leaner fuel numbers.

Cams are obviously going to make a large difference as well.

I'm adding the 06 2.5i to Enginuity's definitions in the next definition release (for the rom that was posted on Enginuity - E2VH202C). It won't be as extensive as turbo models, but you will have access to fuel, timing (base and correction), maf scaling, idle speed, throttle actuator duty, closed loop load and throttle thresholds, and CEL fixes.

If you have a different rom than the one above, post it up here or on Enginuity and I can add it also.

Is there a way I can pull an 05's 2.5RS ecu rom?

With ecuFlash, you have to select the proper car, but it's obviously not in the list. If I fake it as a wrx of the same year, won't the definition be skewed?

If there is a way I can download the raw rom, let me know...I'll hit it tomorrow and post up the stock .bin file.

If it pulls it, it will be fine. It either works or it doesn't.

I've tried reading my brothers 2002 (bugeye) 2.5RS ecu, and it refuses to read. I would have loved to re-flash his with a retune. If anyone finds a way, please do let me know, I'll be mad keen...

Have there been any new findings with the 05RS ECU?
