I'm looking at potentially buying my wife a 2005 Outback XT, with the 5EAT. I see that the same model of AP is listed to work with LGT and Outback XT, but I wanted to double check that the Tactrix 1.2 cable & flashing software would be compatible with the Outback XT as well.
(The Outback XT has the same 2.5l turbocharged engine.)

Anyone does this, or know either way?

I already have the older Tactrix cable for my 04 WRX so I'd have to sell it and buy the new one. There's just something cool about using a single cable for flashing both of our cars

my dad actually just picked one up.

Ended up with a new MY06 OXT, since it was only about $2k more than ~30k mile MY05 after the $1500 rebate + $500 below invoice.
Had to get the color/config we wanted from a dealer swap, so won't be in until tomorrow. This car is for my wife but we're both very excited.
I ordered the 1.2 tactrix cable, I'll just sell my old 1.0

the 06s have some weird ECU thing as reported on LGT.com

update on this:
I datalogged my dad's obxt last night, and ECUexplorer just showed it as the plus sign box, then blank.
it worked though.

Im guessing its called something else, even though the programming is hte same?

You should've dumped his ROM and posted it in this forum. Oh, BTW, try dumping it first without joining the green test connectors.

its a leftover 05, not an 06.
