Here is the standard rom for this car, extracted with ecuflash and the tactrix cable. Will be editing with ecuEDIT soon.

I also have a B4 2003 tiptronic - I wonder how different the maps are were as the manual outputs 190KWatts and the auto is around 170KW.

I working on getting a dump from my ECU, but I first gotta find a suitable cable.

I've posted a link to a USB type cable - will this work?

This cable should work only for monitoring purpose. Order one from TacTrix if you would like to flash your car.

i think the ecu may be the same between MT and AT. I have lots of tables in mine that say they are for auto and then another table for manual.

Main difference seems to be boost.

Interesting as I was thinking that I shouldn't lose that much Kwatts because of the auot. So it's basically identical in terms of engine/turbos.

If one was to copy the entire contents of a manual ECU and dumped into an AUTO ECU would i get a power increase?

i dont think so. I think there is a line coming from the gearbox to the ECU that is either grounded or high for auto/manual. But if you copied the boost values from the MT tables to the AT tables in your ecu it should work.

I think its only boost that has changed MT has a max of 1.9bar and AT has a max of 1.79Bar as far as i can see.

But then the TT doesnt seem to use these tables it uses the desired boost IAS open and IAS closed as far as i can tell. So i really couldnt be sure how it differentiates between auto and manual cause ive only played with a manual.

All i can say is ive changed the Desired Boost IAS open and closed tables and it did change boost on my Manual car.

kosti / others with a b4

just wondering if anyone has and much success tuning these as i would love to have a chat to discuss some theories about what some of the tables do.

I have got a bit of way with mine (mainly tuning to stop detonation) which causes the IAM to stay higher which makes the car drive much better, it feels faster but i havent had it on the dyno so i dont really know.

I'm still not sure at all about removing/decreasing the vod, i think i have done little just by playing with boost targets around that area, i hear from reviews ecutek tuning do alot to fix this up so it must be possible. There are some values for delays to do with the IAS switch and some maps to do with the differential pressure sensor but i have no idea how they work and from playing with them i havent achieved much other than making it worse.

Hey TIM,

I've got you on msn so feel free to add me and discuss this. Seems your way ahead in this area than I am and I'd be interested to learn some more.

Cheers
