another ETC ROM...

This is the ROM associated with the Electronic Throttle Control processor (not the ECM), right? What is the processor? Glad to see you can access this now.

Correct. It is from the 68HC916 family. I need to do some additional testing, but I think it is similar to the 68HC916R1. The 68HC916Y5 was used in the WRX, which is a bigger chip with more memory. I'll need to investigate more to find out how to reflash it via the K-line. I assume that is possible since you have revealed that there are TSBs for ROM revisions for this part.

I'm pretty sure the 521C has already been posted on here. But the AD3A104J ETC rom hasn't been posted I believe.

I'm curious if the AD3A104K from the 2005 STi will work?

I haven't looked trhough the ETC code much - I expect that it should be possible to read and reflash it over the K-line after doing some reverse engineeering. If there was a code fix in the ETC, they must have a way of deploying that in the field.

I read the ETC out using debugging hardware for HC16s called a BDM (background debug monitor) that I had wired in to the PCB.

thats way beyond me, Im only a sophmore EE.

however, its definitely possible to flash ETC roms, over at legacygt.com TDC has custom mapped ETC roms to go with their e-tunes, so that means that the AP already has this functionality.
