I doubt it. The US 2003 3.0L Outback used the EZ30D engine with a single exhaust port per cylinder head. The 2005 3.0L Liberty used the EZ30R engine with three exhaust ports per cylinder head and variable valve lift on the intake cams. The US 2003 3.0L Outback ECU also lacks support for the 2005 Liberty's immobilizer and CAN system.

ok thanks for the reply.
what about interchange between models in the same year.
ie: a AU outback 2005 ecu into a AU liberty 2005
or a US outback 2005 ecu into a AU liberty 2005
or a US legaccy 2005 into a AU liberty 2005
and also i would think that a manual ecu would not work in a automatic version , am i correct in thinking that
thanks for your help mark
