I have a completely stock 2000 Outback sport. I have read over the forums here, and have gotten even more confused then I thought I was.

Can some one explain to me which type of ECU I have, and what I will need to reprogram it (if it exists)?

Someone else may be able to correct me, but I'm pretty sure that would be a JECS ECU. We don't have support for reflashing JECS ECUs yet.

Is there a way that I can verify it? Like if I look at a certain part (hopefully without taking apart the ECU)?

Just take a look at what is written on the case. That should tell you.

Take out the ECU and open up the case. What is the processor inside? See other thread for more info...
