2006 WRX TR (unable to read rom)

Ok, i have an openport 1.3U and ECUFlash 1.32

I have downloaded & uploaded my rom on my EVO just fine.. I am unable to get this to work on my friends WRX.. Not sure what i am missing.

I have hooked up the jumper and tried the 2005-2007 DBW WRX-STi and have been unable to get the ROM downloaded. (tried without jumper too)


It stops at after get kernel version but looks to be successful before that.


Any help would be appreciated.

You don't mind giving us step by step on what you did?

Did you connect the green connectors together under the dash?

Does the car start cycling the fans?

Did you turn the key to "run" at the same moment as you clicked "ok" on the Read pop-up in Ecuflash? You only have about 4 seconds of leeway, if that.

Ok, when you say connect the green connectors together, you meen connect the 1 prong green connector to the 2 prong one under the dash?

I had a plug that basically loops the 2 prong connector. I had that hooked up.. But the single prong connector was no connected to anything.



The cat did not cycle the fans, but i did hear some relays click occasionally when i tried to read. I tried it a bunch of times a bunch of different ways. Maybe it is just a timing issue?


Anyway, please get back to me on the green connectors to verify.

Ok, the green connectors on the driver side needs to be connected

If connected, when key is 'on', you should hear the fans cycle

If not, you do not have them connected

Once fans are cycling, you can try to connect, and once connected, the fans should stop
