I'm stumped... I put in the Flashblock connector, jumper the Green Plug... Get the flashing CEL... But it wont read the flash off of the ECU.. I can datalog so I know I have a connection...
The only other weird thing, I cant record logs... The defroster button doesnt work for the activation of recording datalogs, so I dont want to do too much street tuning if I cant review logs...
HELP... lol. TIA...
I have flashed Bugeyes, '04 STi's, '05 WRX's, even an evo... This is the first one im failing at...

Does your defroster work for logging? How can i record logs without the defroster button? Thats always what I use to record...

Since you swapped, you will need to get the wiring pin map for the 02 WRX ECU you are using and find the flash pin. Connect your flash block, but check the pin on the ECU with a multimeter to see if it is actually getting 12v. You may just need to wire in your own switch to supply it.
It's hard to get too much further into troubleshooting a wiring issue over a web forum.

But would the CEL Flash quickly if the Flashblock wasnt connected? I know the service mode connector (Green) is what really makes it flash but I thought you had to have both or none...
I will try to find a wiring pinout and check it out this weekend.. I could probably ohm it out as well, right?

1) Don't think it matters.
2) Yeah you could do that, but if you had a MM it would probably make more sense to test the pin for voltage at the ECU. That troubleshoots more problems faster, then you could work your way back and check wire resistance, check voltage at the connector, etc.
You can always just run a fresh line right from the battery to the flash wire on the ECU with a switch.

Any idea where to find the ECU pinout?
And any clue what my options are for datalogging instead of the rear defroster?

Got it to read using ECUExplorer... But it wont flash with ECUExplorer... I get RKRV Preamble errors.
Should I try to flash using ECUFlash?
