Rev Limit not changing?

My tuner changed the rev limit on my car to 8k, which shows correctly when read back from the ecu, but the car cuts out at 7k still. He said it was the second STI he has seen this with. Anyone else have this experience?

The drive by wire table needs to be modified as well. You're not getting fuel cut at 7000, but the throttle plate is closing itself to about 20%.

Here's an example of the rev limit raised to 7250:

Thanks!!! Just had this happen to me today. 05 STI, I was also trying to raise rev limiter to 8k. But it would not go to 8000rpm.
THANKS.

Oh BTW, this 05 STI has Cosworth heads, valvetrain and cams. Mahle pistons, stock rods. Greddy T67 Turbo kit upgrade, w/ supporting mods. So I am not just upping the rev limit for shits-and-giggles...

so how would you do this on ecuflash? would this be in target throttle plate position?

Well, it may be called different things in different versions of definitions. It should look roughly like the one I posted. Some cars do not shut the throttle at redline, though. There is also another background map that I do not suggest messing with.

The above map is actually an intermediate value that drives the actual throttle angle position. Merchgod coined it "desired torque" which isn't a bad idea, though it is sorta an arbitrary unit of measure because it is not tied to any sort of physical sensor. If you are using the latest ECUflash definitions that Merchgod made, it would use his naming scheme.
