HELP!! WDC Not matching tables

Postby merchgod » Fri Mar 16, 2007 9:44 am

Well, there you go. Obviously that issue doesn't have anything to do with this wg issue, but there could be other changes that we are not aware of. I just find it strange that this issue has never been seen before in open source tuning on the LGTs and the OP was not tuning their original rom. But apparently others have this issue while tuning their original rom?

I logged again... same 30.2 result with these WGDC RPM values:

2000 -- 70
2800 -- 65
3600 -- 50
4400 -- 50
5200 -- 50

So doesn't seem responsive to that tweak.

I'll get back to you. Any other info you give me - I haven't checked all the logs that were posted. It is consistent across a certain rpm range. Does it do it part-throttle or only at WOT.

Here's the latest logs... the answer is "yes."

Does it in both circumstances. And below the range targeted in the WGDC RPM tables. Two pulls, the first in 5th gear when I was just watching it as I tipped in while cruising in 5th. The next was the same third gear pull, 100% throttle.

Ok, there's some additional logic in the 521C, 521N, 522N for wastegate duty and I can see where the 30% cap is being introduced. This is not present in earlier LGT roms (I checked the 510N, 511N).

I didn't have time to look at it very closely, but I'll try to sometime this weekend or Monday. I'm confident I can come up with a fix for it or at least allow you to control this static value. If you would like to be tester for this, PM me your rom on the Enginuity site.

The ROM is on its way in an Enginuity PM. Thanks!

Is there any update on this? I'm experiencing this exact problem with my 06 LGT A2WF200N.

I came up with a fix and results have been good so far.

FYI. I have been using the merchgod modified 522N ROM for a few weeks now and it seems to be working out just fine.

Did you discover the conditions that cause the ECU to invoke the 30% cap?

No, I merely bypassed that that logic in the ecu. It appears to occur at a lower rpm under a decent amount of throttle. A variable starts at zero and slowly (relatively) ramps up. At this point, this variable now becomes your wastegate duty regardless of the main map. However, although it counts up from zero, the minimum wastegate duty is 30% during this period. Which is why you will see a series of 30% in the logs. Once the variable surpasses 30% then it continues ramping up until it hits the normal wastegate duty as determined by the initial\max wg maps. So, the 30% is not a cap, but is a minimum value and this funky behavior continues past 30% until it reaches the normal map values.

Why did Subaru did this? According to a description for the newer revision, it was to fix "Surge during moderate acceleration."

Hi merchgod,

How does one get their hands on a copy of your updated ROM that deals with this issue? I'm seeing 30.2% WGDC and low boost, it'd be nice to get that sorted...

Thanks,
Andy

This is a low rpm WDC limiter

I use Cobb AP for tuning these cars as they have the limiter parameter sorted

Ummm... okay... so you signed onto the boards just to post that little tidbit?

You do realize that this is a very old thread.

We've been open source tuning 2005 522N and 2006 roms for quite some time now with merchgod's help.

Well, I found out why you posted that little tidbit.

You shouldn't sell a defective product to unsuspecting customers (2006 LGT owners).

This guy didn't get his money back either.
