When I open an ECU that either has an XML file or doesn't, the map edit window doesn't show after a while of using it on either my desktop or laptop, although I can open the functions window. A virgin install of a zip file I emailed to someone else that had ECUedit, xml and a ROM in it and worked on their machine and my work machine now doesn't seem to work on my desktop or laptop. A fresh install from the zip download into other directories also doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong? One day all the editing features appeared, now when a ROM is loaded it loads but doesn't allow any editing/map definition etc.

Most likely PC related problems... I've never had this happen or heard of it.

It is puzzling. PCs are both working fine for everything else. Virus checked etc.

Now it works again... I just deleted some old files, maybe there were odd duplicates of XML files or something.

If you have corrupted xml files or xml files that aren't ecuEdit specifix in the main ecuEdit directory or it's xmldefs directory it will try and load those when you start ecuEdit and will mess up the program if it finds corruptions or non-format specific ones.
