As far as I have seen to date, none of the CAN vehicles require any extra connectors to be plugged in, just the OpenPort2 cable.
01-05 style ECUs (non-DBW) require both the test mode connector to be joined (sometimes 2 sets), and also a jumper block to be connected.
04-07 style ECUs (DBW, non-CAN) require only the green test mode connectors.
