ecoscan, interesting phenomenon

The most interesting part is when I start a log it effects the running of the engine. RPM rises significantly when trying to log and a different rhythm is felt in the running.
There are several items that may be causing this, I am using mitsulogger, logworks and had ecu+ too. Of course not running at the same time, there is also a LC-1 and auxbox input too.
I believe it logged in a normal fashion the first few times I tried using it, so I may done some dumb thing without knowing it.
I have tried unplugging the small white plug and using two different laptops without any change.
