You sir can go suck a dick. Do you know VB and can help with the coding errors then maybe you should stfu and mind your own business.

First off, your attitude is terrible. You have not contributed anything here except for a bunch of whining.

Ask yourself, "Why is it that most of the members here who are more technically competent than me are able to install and run the software easily?" The answer lies deep within your impatient heart... :P

Did you even try the various fixes mentioned here? If so what is the EXACT error message you are receiving? Is this the same error as before the fix was tried? There is an actual solution if you try...

My laptop is a PII 350 or thereabouts. It does 12/s with the window updating, and 130/s minimized.

Anything at all is a bonus on a laptop like this and a $15 program, as it is the data is very useful indeed.

Needs .NET 2.0 framework

BTW, EvoScan does NOT need .NET framework 2.0. It DOES need framework 1.1. Install both at your own risk. It is definitely possible if done right, but I can think of about 20 different problems that can be caused by having both.

EDIT: This ONLY applies to EvoScan, not the member's app.

What needs the .NET 2.0 framework is the LoggerReader app a member threw together to interpret the logged results. The actual EVOScan software however only requires 1.1

FWIW, I am also running a utec, but it is on map0, but with my p3 750 craptop I think I was getting over 60/s

I checked to see if there were anymore updated video drivers and I have the most current one. Ill figure this out sooner or later. Ill post up my findings if I figure it out.

Would the screen refesh rate have anything to do with it? Mine was set at 60hz and bumped it to 85hz??

Little crying girls gonna ruin it for everyone. So many other people have gotten it to work. Maybe it is something with your computer. Stop crying and try to resolve it. Dont bitch and moan about a freeware program that is in beta stages. If you dont like it just buy an aem and you will have all the fast datalogging necessary and a dedicated forum for support or use one of the slower sample rate programs out there.

Talk big shit over the internet e-gangsta, like you about something. Seems like your just incompetent and you are the first person with your particular problem. Everyone elses problem has been similar to one another and was worked out without bitching and I am sure yours can too. If you want help this is the place, but dont bitch about it and say anything to discourage the creator. He is doing us all a favor by making this program and I dont know about you, but I appreciate his efforts. Does not seem like you do though. He probably has 100's of pms regarding this shit, but I am sure he also has a life as well, and wants to also play with his car just like you do. If you would like I would be happy to send you 15 dollars for him so you can dry your tears since you complaining.

Mad If I could get your code, i'd like to make just a basic console logging program so I can try and get more speed in the logging department without all the updates etc.

that really gets the job done, nice work.

only thing I noticed was that you can't view more then one log at a time.

Other then that its very useful.

To clear up some things.
1. You should have no issues at all running both .NET frameworks. Hell I even use .net 3.0 beta at work with no issues on any previous apps.
2. If you have a problem installing the application it is your computer, not his code. The installation section of the program was created by a wizard and I doubt he didn't any coding in that. Try closing all your app running in the background. IE Antivirus etc. Hell do a google search for it.
3. The logging rate is not a drivers issue the form just has to redraw that section it takes up too many cycles from the pc. Its also more than just text that has to redraw. Its the whole line even though one small section is the only thing that changes.

If you think 15 dollars is too much, then wait for the free version with out the extras.

Keep up the good work Evo4Mad

LOL The various fixes mentioned here consist of uninstalling and reinstalling the framework which I have done several times. So please explain then skippy what the program is looking for to verify that .net 1.1 is installed I asked this question from the beginning but noone here can answer it. As for contributing I have helped write definition files for 20 ecu's that other people didn't have time for. If anyone actually has some usefull information that could possibly help resolve this issue then I'm open to those suggestions. The exact error message says 1.1 is not fucking installed please run setup again after installing .net 1.1.4322

I'll send him $15 if it stops this noise.

3gturbo, which part of "This is pre-release software" do you not understand? The man was nagged constantly to do a release, which he did as pre-release software.

This man is doing good work for the community, no doubt in his valuable spare time. It's people like you that ruin initiatives like this.

There is no big software house involved, no big support team sat around waiting to help people like you. Get real will ya.

Encourage don't criticise!

I know there was another user that was using Ecuflash and it works for both of us but he is running in passthrough (map0) and I am still running a dedicated map (map1). I would run in the passthrough mode but the injector difference is too large, ahh hell Ill try and report back my findings. MJ could you comment on this if you have any ideas.

Nah, I've tried this with the UTEC, and ECU+... This program depends heavily on the CPU on your system to refresh the User interface.. The more you have running and the slower the machine, the slower it will sample, try minimizing the window so the data isn't displayed, you should see it go up a bit.

Also, the IO is heavily dependent on your USB bus, the older the machine, the more CPU intensive the USB handling is, and that can also seriously affect the transfer speed.

There is a pretty in-depth knowledgebase article on the microsoft site that describes version issues and whatnot..

If you install and remove .NET it does leave behind a ton of stuff, and it looks like its still installed..

I had this problem on ONE laptop out of a dozen machines, the way I went about fixing it was uninstalling the .NET libraries, 2.0 first, 1.1 second, (and its associated hotfixes) I then ran windows update which told me I had new components to install, I installed .NET 1.1 first, rebooted, then allowed the .NET 1.1 security hotfixes install.. Then I installed 2.0, rebooted again and ran update again until there were no more updates specific to 2.0 or 1.1..

1.1 and 2.0 WILL coexist.. The only time you will not get everything you need (Since their optional components) is if you do not have a Genuine copy of windows, where the Genuine Advantage component fails the verification.. Windows will only update critical security fixes if you don't pass the LegitCheck..

And FWIW, the laptop I had that didn't work, DID NOT HAVE a genuine copy of Windows XP, it was installed some time ago and had a blocked VLK, the previous owner of the laptop probably reinstalled it at some point and used a bad key, Once I updated it with my corporate key everything updated correctly.

Anyway, the procedure applies regardless..

What version of the OS are you running? Not sure if anyone asked that.. I have to assume its at least windows 2000 or some version of XP.. I have had some .NET issues with Win2k though..

Actually, your question was answered in every which way so far.. You just want someone to give you the answer you want to hear..

Logic... .NET 1.1 needs to be installed, so it verifies it.. Its not TESTING things for the sake of it, it relies on a component that is part of it.. Therefore somehow what is needed is missing.. Just because the directory shows up in your computer, and possibly in your add/remove programs control panel, DOES NOT MEAN its fully installed, there are several installers that create directories when their not found, so it can write some XML and Property files into the directory..

As for contributing I have helped write definition files for 20 ecu's that other people didn't have time for. What 20 ECU's? I'll make sure I bitch to you about each and every one of them when something on my computer doesn't work the way I want to and I'm not in the mood to troubleshoot it. Sounds pretty silly eh?

Prerelease software always has bugs.. Early adopters generally learn to deal with them, work around them, or wait until their fixed..

Don't get me wrong, I really do understand your issue, and why your upset.. I understand you spent $15, but did it after reading EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY Could in the threads, right? Therefore you were fully aware of everything, including its bugs and possible glitches, Right?
