reflashing > is it that simple?

I have a basic question which I would like to know before wrecking a ecu.
Using Ecu explorer, I have read the ECU flash memory of a friend's EUR MY05 WRX with PPP. (..cpu.hex and ..tpu.hex file)
Can I use these files to simply upload these using "write rom image to ecu flash memory" in a standard MY05 WRX to give it PPP?
If yes, do I only need to upload the ..cpu.hex or also the tpu.hex?
