inherited the wrong ID and can't change it

I have a ROM that's for an 88840013 and in hind sight I've learned that I have to inherit 888400016 to view it properly. The problem is that I've already inherited something else and now it doesn't prompt me to choose anymore.
what's the trick to fixing this issue. I need to get it to inherit the right one now that I know which one it should be using.
I did some searching and haven't seen a post about his problem. I did a separate install of ecuflash and that works but I need to fix my main install.
