The fuel map I had to crash course tune with

Postby C6ect.ect » Wed Feb 28, 2007 1:10 pm

The below image was my first view of my fuel and timing maps last April when I first used EcuFlash. This was my tune after spending a total of about $900 for 2 mail-in flashes and one custom street tune.

My question is - was it not uncommon to view such an arrangement of values for fuel maps purchaced from venders (I think tech tom was used)? Or can my map be corrupt to some degree?

I ask because I after hundreds of flashes and close to thousand logs after this I still can't get accurate output from the value that I input.
AFRMAP values correspond to unusual RPM areas of map vs load and will not correspond to anything vs RPM. This isn't severly so, only aggrivatingly so.

Or is this typical and basically the below tune I had on there sucked?

I particularily do not understand that mid load - high RPM area, any ideas?

Nonetheless, after water/methanol injection, lots of trial and error, and about 80 more WHP :D below is my current ROM.

I'm just having a difficult time with fuel

Thanks you for the input if any

It would help if you'd update your profile or explain whether you're screwing around with a Mitsubishi or a Subaru, and exactly which one.

That first fuel map is all over the place. I don't think that is a good way to leave a tune.

Evo 8

That first fuel/ign map was a street tune I paid $300 for almost two years ago, AFR's high 10's low 11's not sure about the timing back then.

When I first read my ROM I was surprised of the sloppyness even though the cells never really get hit.

The second map is what I have turned it into after water/metanol injection, and 10 months of ecuflash and datalogging.

I get knock a part throttle (not at WOT) and can't seem to pin it down, I'm about to start from scratch

Update,

That tune I had was garbage, too much fuel and timing. Much better now and I think I've learned quite abit recently

there are so many theories arnt there?

what does the load corespond to?
as in 100 = 0 boost? 200=14.7psi?

how did you find the comanded afr to the actual measured?

seems rich numbers to me and not enough timing but fuels come into it too!
