No instructions.

Read the entire site (and all related) till you feel confident enough to pull a rom, modify and reflash.

The other option is to pay for ECUEdit or other licensed program with a User Guide. Most I've come across are as equal as reading OpenECU.

All of the user manuals will have a disclaimer that if you do not familiarize yourself of the very concepts of ECU tuning, you might kill the ECU or break things. Don't do that!

Create a user account, surf all relevant information related to your questions and your ride. Then read all the stuff you skipped afterwards relevant or not.

Sorry for the sad news, but it is for the best. A month of enriching your mind is a small penance to pay to learn this ART.

Good luck to you…

The Enginuity faq has a lot information. Even if you don't end up using Enginuity, you will learn about reading/flashing with Ecuflash and general concepts that apply to all the openecu tuning platforms.

Scoobypedia's ECU section also has some excellent information, as well. Check out "Connecting to your ECU" and "Reading and reflashing ECUs," specifically.
