Having trouble connecting

I'm trying to connect to my ecu with ecuflash using tactrix cable, when I try to "read ecu", i get an error that reads
[00:59:37.937] This vehicle interface does not support needed features.
[00:59:37.937] unable to connect to vehicle interface.

I have an 05 Evo MR. Does anyone know how to correct this issue? Am I just stupid?
