Can this boot mode writing really be able to overwrite whatever Ecut*k has locked out ?

How about 16bits processor..is there similar way to force ecu to boot mode ?

I am living at Singapore, not as fortunate on customer right to boycott ecut*k.
ecutek tuners there basically quoting no way to revert ..the problem is some users bought the car used with ecut*k bad DNA on it..and users just leave with no choice ,cant go back to Dealer and go for ECU reflash solution.

Not tested yet. I did ask Colby but no answer :(

Maybe someone has already tested this method ? I don't know why it may not work, as it works in boot mode. No read operation can be done, but write operation can be.

Regarding 16bits, there's such hardwware to do it, but it costs much more !! P&E sells one, I know Colby use it already but also don't know if someone has used it to lockout an ecut**k ecu ??

there is a way to read a ecutek locked ECU via the OBDII port.... done 16 bit, but haven't tried 32bit yet

shbootmode should be able to overwrite almost anything short of a hardware failure.

Totally not keen on ecutek map..only keen on overwriting it to restore to standard comm protocol.
Can the software overwrite the ecutek maps and restore back to stock map or same year car code to the ecu ?

Sure, you just have to find your ecu's original software version.

I can use enginuity logger to log my ecutek

I was to set my ecu free. I feel like its stuck in the matrix. my local tuner sucks. I'm almost thinking about talking to a lawyer over this lock out b.s.
I would think its illegal for ecutek to do that. I was not even told on sale that I'd be locked out.

I'll just list my email address incase someone wants to help.

Thanks

Hi all,

We may be able to assist you but you would have to send your ECU to Australia and we would only re-instate original programs. We would not supply a copy of the program that was in your ECU if it was locked by another tuners’ method. We should be able to do any EVOVII onward and all Subaru 2001 onward as well. We had not envisaged supplying this service, but it seems there are a few people who require it.

Let us know if this is something that people are interested in please.
