1999/2000 Late GC8 Impreza STI w/ AVCS

One of my friend recently got a 2000 GC8 Impreza STI w/ AVCS. This engine is similar in parts to the STI 2001 bugeye.
Have anyone came across a vehicle like this?
Is the ECU the same a a 2001?
I haven't ask him to look @ the ecu because he is a strange guy.

No such thing. JDM GC8 production ended in 2000 with a ej207 that had a RS style coilpack on the right of the manifold. AVCS was announced with the release of the bug eye chassis change in 2001.

There is such a thing
Coil packs came the plugs as far back as the first STI, back in 1992.
There were AVCS that came out as far back on NA car in 1997.

Dude. I own a STi Version 6, the last GC8. I also import containers filled with GC8s. There is no such thing.

I am sorry to say, but there is.
And just to add to that, AVCS came on NA cars from 1997 and up. I'm not sure about the 2L, but on the 2.5L.
